MASTERCLASS SERIES
Heinz Kohut & Self Psychology

A Three Session Series by Dr Charles Strozier

About This Webinar

This three-part webinar series reintroduces Heinz Kohut to a new generation of psychotherapists — including psychoanalysts, clinical social workers, psychologists, psychiatrists, and other clinicians committed to depth-oriented talk therapy — who may have lost sight of his enduring clinical relevance.

To truly understand Kohut, he needs to be relieved of his language. While at times abstract and even internally contradictory, Kohut was a profoundly transformative thinker whose work marked a decisive paradigm shift in psychoanalysis — from the classical tripartite, drive-based model to a psychology of the self as a cohesive, relational, and holistic construct. His ideas reshaped contemporary psychodynamic practice and continue to influence relational and intersubjective approaches today.

The series will be presented by Charles B. Strozier — Kohut’s biographer and author of Heinz Kohut: The Making of a Psychoanalyst and The New World of Self, among many other publications. For over 35 years, Strozier has been a leading voice in self psychology and brings both scholarly depth and clinical clarity to Kohut’s work.
